Easy Reflection

This notebook is great. I’ve never been super religious, but it’s been a really nice way to explore these stories and reflect without it feeling heavy or overwhelming. My best friend is a big believer, so we’ve been doing the notebook exercises together, and it’s been such a fun and meaningful way for us to connect in a totally new way. The pages are really nice quality (no ink bleeding through), it’s easy to carry around, and the spiral binding makes it super usable.

Well-Structured Study

I really like how the book is focused on Themes or topics. It's not a read-the-Bible-in-a-year plan, rather, it's one theme per week on Christian life that helps establish a biblical worldview. Each week of the 52-week studies begins with a "Synopsis" of the theme. Next you read what the publisher calls a "Devotional" section that explains the theme in more detail. There are seven Bible passages that are to be read, that support the theme, one passage for each day of the week. (The passages span across the Old and New Testament Books.) There is also a few application questions the publisher calls "Reflection" questions, and a "Blessing" that reads like a prayer. I think it would be very good to add verse mapping word studies, and perhaps reading some commentaries if I wanted to go into a more deeper study.

Its worth every penny!

I love this! This is an excellent study guide to help you truly understand God‘s Word and how to apply it to your life. It’s simple and easy to use and encourages you to really think on the scripture that you’ve read. However, if you are looking for a guide to help you read through all the scriptures in the Bible in one year, the journal is not set up for that. I think the title “The Bible in a Year” is a bit misleading as this is more of a weekly thematic guide for daily passages to read, reflect and apply God’s Word to your life.
